Reports To: Reliability Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Both facilities
Work Arrangement: On-site
Shift / Schedule: Variable schedule; >50% weekend work, Work primarily during non-production hours, Typical days off: Weekdays; occasional Mon–Fri work with weekends off
Travel Requirements: Minimal travel between facilities as needed

Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Rebuild Technician is responsible for executing the site’s rebuild program as well as implementing improvements in the rebuild strategies. This position focuses on delivering both innovative and proven solutions within the lowest cost, highest value, and quality driving measurable impacts on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery.
Train mechanics on routine PM program, measuring and reporting to their management team on competency and cooperation.
Dismantling, repairing, and rebuilding equipment that is critical to the factory’s safe and effective operation.
Identify and implement improvement strategies with parts including improving material of construction and equipment modifications that result in improved life, lower cost, and improved value.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis process to provide creative and proven solutions that reduce or eliminate downtime.
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to maintenance teams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to effectively execute their roles.
Accountable to KPI’s including Downtime Reduction, Reduced Parts Cost, Reduced External Labor Cost
Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with other departments and leaders to accomplish organizational goals including quality and yield.
Manage budgets and resources: Effectively allocate financial resources to support operational excellence initiatives and ensure they are within budget.
Additional Skills
Extensive experience with poultry equipment: Proven track record of successfully rebuilding, maintaining, and improving mechanical equipment.
Strong coaching and communication skills: Ability to coach and develop mechanics as well as communicate to management regarding operational risk.
Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to identify root causes of problems, develop effective solutions, and measure the impact of changes.
Preferred abilities in advanced mechanical and electrical skills including controls and PLCs.
Ability to work extended hours on the plant floor, with regular lifting, bending, stretching up to the entire shift.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of total related experience.
Must have ability to understand schematics, prints, instructions and P&ID’s.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CMMS systems.
Must perform all work with focus on safety and follow OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
Specific knowledge of equipment in the production facility preferred.
10 Plus Years working on poultry equipment preferred.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is conducted primarily in a manufacturing and production environment and requires the ability to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions in the plant. GMP and safety PPE are required while inside the plant. Travel between facilities may be required on a limited basis to support daily operations.
