Shift / Schedule: Full-time, salaried position; schedule varies based on customer needs, travel, and business priorities
Travel Requirements: Frequent local and regional travel within the assigned territory; occasional overnight travel may be required for customer meetings, distributor visits, trade shows, and company events

Role Overview / Purpose and Scope

The Field Sales Representative is responsible for growing Farmer Focus sales, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting brand presence within the assigned Tennessee or Georgia territory. This role partners closely with customers, distributors, brokers, and internal Sales team members to drive sales performance, identify new business opportunities, support product execution, and represent Farmer Focus with professionalism, product knowledge, and a commitment to our CARES values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with assigned retail, food service, distributor, broker, and customer accounts within the territory.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities by prospecting potential customers, conducting market visits, and building a strong pipeline of business within Tennessee or Georgia.
  • Present Farmer Focus products, programs, brand story, and value proposition to customers in a clear, compelling, and professional manner.
  • Support sales growth by executing territory plans, meeting assigned sales goals, monitoring account performance, and providing regular updates to the Sales Director.
  • Conduct store, customer, and distributor visits to evaluate product placement, inventory, merchandising, pricing, competitive activity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations partners to support customer needs, order accuracy, product availability, promotional activity, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, opportunities, follow-ups, and territory insights using company-designated systems and reporting tools.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and category performance and share insights that support sales strategy and business planning.
  • Represent Farmer Focus at customer meetings, distributor events, trainings, trade shows, and other industry or community events as needed.
  • Follow all company policies and applicable food safety, quality, customer, and compliance expectations while conducting business on behalf of Farmer Focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sales, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of outside sales, field sales, account management, distributor management, retail, food service, grocery, CPG, poultry, meat, or food industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, prospect new business, manage a territory, and follow through on commitments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role while staying aligned with team goals, reporting expectations, and company priorities.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, mobile technology, and customer relationship management or sales reporting tools.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet company driving standards required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.

New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility is documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

This is a remote, field-based role that requires frequent travel throughout the assigned Tennessee or Georgia territory. Work is performed in a variety of settings, including customer locations, retail stores, distributor facilities, trade shows, company meetings, vehicles, and home office environments. The role requires the ability to drive for extended periods, stand and walk during store or customer visits, carry product samples or sales materials as needed, use a computer and mobile device, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through digital tools. Occasional evening, weekend, or overnight travel may be required based on customer needs, industry events, and business priorities.
