Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Fleet Reliability Coordinator is a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mobile equipment across both the Acorn and Liberty poultry processing facilities. This role focuses heavily on mobile machinery, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and other powered industrial vehicles, while also supporting general plant maintenance needs as required. This position is float-based and works between both plants depending on operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile equipment such as electric and manual pallet jacks, forklifts, and other mobile machinery needed to support plant operations.
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and extend equipment life.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure mobile equipment meets OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Assist with major breakdowns within the plant, including equipment to teardown, setup, and reassembly.
Support maintenance teams during high-priority or emergency repairs to minimize operational downtime.
Collaborate with production and maintenance supervisors to prioritize work orders and respond to equipment needs.
Perform general mechanical tasks as needed, similar to a traditional industrial maintenance mechanic.
Compensation: $104,000

Qualifications
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience repairing forklifts, pallet jacks, or other industrial mobile equipment preferred.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
Willingness to work flexible shifts and travel between the Acorn and Liberty plants.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and company policies.
Comfortable working in a poultry processing environment, including cold, wet, and production-area conditions.
New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is performed on-site across the Acorn and Liberty poultry processing facilities in Harrisonburg, VA. This position requires regular movement throughout plant production and maintenance areas and may involve working around mobile equipment, production machinery, varying temperatures, wet or chilled environments, and other standard poultry processing conditions. Appropriate safety equipment is required, including hearing and eye protection, hair and beard nets, and any additional personal protective equipment required by task, location, or safety standards.
