We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of end-to-end accounting operations during an important growth phase. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable processes, working in an international environment, and partnering closely with both local and US-based teams.

You will play a key role in day-to-day accounting, month-end close, statutory and tax support, and audit readiness, while collaborating with the Polish Controller and the US Corporate Accounting team.

What you’ll do:

General Ledger & Month-End Close

Perform and oversee full month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations (bank, intercompany, accruals, prepaid expenses, etc.)

Ensure accurate and timely financial close in line with company policies and local accounting standards

Transactional Accounting

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor and customer reconciliations

Perform bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash activity

Maintain fixed asset (PPE) records, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation

Inventory & Corporate Accounting Support

Support inventory accounting in collaboration with the US corporate accounting team

Assist with inventory reconciliations, cost tracking, and variance analysis

Support intercompany transactions and eliminations related to inventory

Tax & Statutory Compliance

Assist with monthly and quarterly VAT filings

Support local income tax return processes and provide documentation to external advisors

Support statutory financial reporting and filings for Poland and the Netherlands

Audit, Controls & Compliance

Prepare audit schedules and respond to external auditor requests

Assist in establishing and maintaining internal controls suitable for a growing organization

Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and local regulatory requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in an international environment
  • Hands-on experience supporting statutory accounting and tax compliance in Poland
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of Polish and EU VAT and income tax requirements
  • US GAAP experience is preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (eg. Sage X3)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Background in a growing or start-up environment is preferred
  • Valid sanitary and epidemiological certificate required
  • Communicative level of English, both spoken and written
