Position Summary
The Service Parts Assembly Technician is responsible for building, assembling, and testing components or products according to technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions. This includes using hand tools, machinery, and measurement devices to ensure parts fit and function correctly while meeting quality and safety standards. The role involves inspecting finished assemblies, identifying defects, and collaborating with production teams to resolve issues to help maintain efficient manufacturing workflows and support continuous improvement efforts.
Position Responsibilities
- Assemble electric vehicle components for field technicians.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace, following strict safety protocols regarding electrical and warehouse hazards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair defective parts.
- Use computers and digital systems confidently to review work instructions, access part information, track assemblies, and complete required documentation.
- Navigate electronic records accurately to support production and service operations.
Position Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or relevant certification is highly preferred or Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1–3 years in manufacturing, production, or assembly environments.
- Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate digital work instructions, electronic records, and proficient use of Microsoft Office.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices (calipers, micrometers), and crimping equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical systems.
- High accuracy in assembling small parts and performing quality inspections.
- Ability to identify defects, diagnose assembly issues, and perform basic repairs.
- Effective verbal and written skills to work with team members and report issues.
- Strong hand-eye coordination for manipulating small parts and performing repetitive tasks with precision
- Strong computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office 365, navigate electronic drawings and diagrams, and communicate effectively through email and Teams.
