Sr. Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Controls Engineer to join an innovative engineering team focused on designing advanced electro-hydraulic actuator systems used in critical industrial applications worldwide. This is an opportunity to join a highly specialized organization where engineers are hands-on, highly visible, and directly involved in solving complex technical challenges for major customers in the Oil & Gas and industrial processing industries.

Key Responsibilities
- Program PLC systems for custom electro-hydraulic actuation products from concept through production
- Design electrical control systems including:
- Schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Control panels
- Control enclosures
- Create electrical schematics, BOMs, and layout drawings
- Perform electrical engineering calculations and power consumption analysis
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs
- Support internal testing, debugging, and factory acceptance testing
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to define project scope, schedules, and deliverables
- Review customer drawings, markups, and specifications
- Support proposal reviews and new product development efforts
- Lead engineering review meetings with internal teams and customers
- Travel occasionally to customer sites to support installations and field service activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering
- 5–10+ years of controls engineering experience preferred
- Experience programming PLCs from scratch
- Strong experience with:
- Allen Bradley
- Siemens
- Schneider Electric
- Wago (preferred)
- Experience with:
- Ladder Logic
- Function Block Programming
- Structured Text (nice to have)
- Experience designing electrical control systems and schematics
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical system integration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on engineering environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel internationally up to 10%

Additional Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Predominantly onsite position
- Travel: Approximately 10% international travel
- Drug screen and background check required
- Candidates must be able to pass random drug screenings
