Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for the employee life cycle administrative duties of all SOJO employees assigned to the Region, including partnering with the Regional Plant Director and other Hub partners to create a winning culture of engagement, continuous improvement and accountability. The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for all people functions and therefore must have a deep understanding of our operational processes. A successful candidate will have a background in operations and must enjoy coaching and mentoring, as well as implementing People processes and structure. This person must be flexible and able to manage multiple aspects of the business with the understanding that people functions must support the overall business as well as the wellbeing of our people.
Responsibilities:
- Leads local recruiting and hiring functions
- Manage all human resource duties for the assigned Sojo facility, including on-boarding and off-boarding
- Ensure the facility is in full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, I-9 compliance). Manage documentation related to leave of absence and ADA accommodation.
- Develop and roll out both local and company-wide people-related policies and procedures.
- Apply and interpret Sojo policies and procedures as well as local regulation to Sojo’s workforce in the assigned facility
- Perform staffing analysis and work with local team and third-party staffing partners to improve flexibility and optimize staffing by business process and area.
- Perform investigations, employee coaching & counseling, performance development plans, discipline, and terminations
- Continuously review and improve Employee Handbook, while making sure all employees have an understanding our people policies.
- Identify and implement personal development opportunities and training across both salaried and hourly employees.
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve training program including regulatory, compliance, and general process knowledge.
- Own, develop, and execute a local employee engagement program to improve employee experience.
- Continuously have ad-hoc conversations as well as small group meeting and round-tables to ensure we’re getting true feedback from our team that can be acted on to improve both Sojo PA region and national.
- Assist in the managing and processing of all regulatory matters (e.g., workers’ comp claims and garnishments) related to Sojo personnel in the assigned facility
- Continuously evaluate the state of the business and support departments as needed to ensure there are no operational or people-related gaps. This includes warehousing, shipping/receiving, inventory management, and manufacturing.
- Oversee and manage local HR administrative processes, including accurate payroll inputs, timecard management, benefits enrollment support, and personnel file maintenance.
- All other tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 2-3 years operating in a strategic capacity such as an HR Business Partner, Strategic HR Generalist, or HR Consultant.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the full employee lifecycle, including effective new employee onboarding and the efficient administration of essential HR tasks and processes.
- Proficiency in utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), with experience preferred in platforms like BambooHR and Insperity.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
